Amon Carter responded to requests from people he had never met, who knew him only through his newspaper. He gave to educational institutions, hospitals, museums, churches, parks and camps, many of which bear his name today.

His collection of works of Remington and Russell became the foundation of the museum of art that bears his name today, and which put his beloved city of Fort Worth on the map.
