ILL Direct |
An ILL shortcut, ILL Direct, has been available since August, 1998, for TCU'rs using FirstSearch's WorldCat database. Once you have identified a book you need, you may request it online from its WorldCat record. If the book is owned by at least 5 cooperating libraries, your request will go directly to a library (and eventually to the other 4, if necessary), thus speeding up the ILL process. When the book arrives at TCU's ILL Department, we will notify you.
If there is a problem of any kind with the request, it will go directly to TCU's ILL Department, where we will request the book for you. As of now, this service is only available for WorldCat items.

Document Delivery |
Currently the TCU library has deposit accounts with three services: Ingenta, Infotrieve, and the Linda Hall Library. These services are available to faculty and graduate students.
- These services provide an alternative to interlibrary loan for journal articles, especially if speed is of the essence.
- Articles are sent via fax or e-mailed.
Try searching for your article in Ingenta first.
- Ingenta is the preferred service. It has a fast turnaround time, generally 24 hours.
- If you cannot find the item you need in Ingenta try Infotrieve. (Infotrieve has an additional surcharge of $1 per page for fax delivery.)
- You may pick up your item in the ILL office.
For article delivery in the sciences, you can also try the Linda Hall Library. You must email reference@tcu.edu to use this service the first time.
