What is the Music/Media Library? |
The Music/Media Library contains a large repertory of music scores, collected works, reference books, and non-paper media. The W.B. "Judge" Hamilton Audio/Visual Resource Center was added in 2003 with state-of-the-art playback equipment for most types of media. It houses over 4,000 audio CDs, over 10,000 long-playing records and audiotapes, plus University performances on various media. The Music/Media Library also contains over 6,000 video recordings primarily supporting the academic disciplines. While scores and print references can be browsed freely, the audiovisual shelves are accessible only to MML staff. Records for AV materials can be browsed using the online catalog.
The Music/Media Subject Research Guide offers links to numerous online resources available from anywhere to the TCU community, as well as an introduction to print materials. |
| Circulation policy |
Current TCU students, faculty and staff may check out up to 10 audio or video recordings. Videos check out for 1 week, audio recordings for 2 weeks and music scores for a month. Two renewals can be obtained unless a "hold" has been placed on an item. Special arrangements may be made with MML staff if more than 10 items are required for a class.
TexShare cardholders may view or listen to items in the Audio/Visual Center, but may not check out audio or video recordings or music scores. |
