Find Out About New Materials

Any search you do in the library online catalog can be turned into an "alert" that will e-mail you when new titles that match your search are added to the library collection. The screen shots below show how to set up an alert. Please contact the Library Reference department (email: reference@tcu.edu, phone: 257-7117) if you need assistance.


Click on each picture to make a larger version open in a new window.

1. Log on. You only need to do this once per catalog search session. (Since the system is going to "remember" to send you alerts in the future, it needs to know who the alert is being created for.)

2. Search

2. Click the "Alert" button after doing the search

3. Click the "Create Alert" button

4. Fill out the form and then click "Create Alert" again

5. You will be returned to the search results screen. The library system will now e-mail you when new titles matching your search arrive.

To review, modify, or delete any new title alerts you have set up, you use the My Account screen. (If you are not already logged on, you will first be prompted to log on after clicking "My Account").

The next screen will display all the alerts you currently have saved on the sytem. You can modify or delete them.
